Forgiveness | English poems
the collaborator
Ione chair
used to be moved to the table and moved back
more heavily than other chairs in this house
it had a hiding place in one leg
it was carried few times
from one hiding place to another
in summer during second year of war
it was burnt with a cigarette
at the level of third and fourth desk
but it didn’t reveal the secret
II
on the last evening
when disciples didn’t come –
it fell and hasn’t been standing up
for a long time
then somebody with sweaty fingers
stood on it and hanged above it –
since then it has been creaking differently
III
sometimes when nobody’s looking
I light for his dead soul
an electric candle in a church
with a cold flame inside
